The Crowning Glory
Hair. Say it, and inevitably two words will follow… Love-Hate. Good hair day, bad hair day. Why does it have so much power over us?
Hair has always been a hot topic throughout history. From ancient rulers to fairytale figures, women have had an obsession with their hair. Hair up, sporty to formal. Hair down, sexy to casual. As a mother of small children, these days I will settle for clean hair. (As in little sticky fingers love to grab, and you pray that little chunk of apple hasn’t been hanging in there all day!) I have a go - to hair routine that keeps my hair healthy, shiny and manageable!
The Cut
First, start with a great cut! With a really good hair cut, the daily styling shouldn’t be a labor intensive chore. I opted for a shorter more manageable style, but I do like some length to my hair. My cut allows me to wash and go, or when the occasion calls for a more involved style, it works well with hair accessories and extensions.
Bumble and bumble. Obsessed!
Product
The salon I go to now only uses Bumble and bumble. products, and I am hooked on pretty much the entire line. This is my Everyday styling routine.
I use the Gentle shampoo and conditioner line. It goes such a long way and is so nourishing to my hair that the higher price point for me is worth it. I use the Blow Dry Accelerator and The All-Style on wet hair before I blow dry. The accelerator reduces blow-drying time which helps to protect my hair from over drying and damaging it so it can keep a healthy glow. The All-Style just adds the extra oomph and also helps prevent heat damage from blow-drying. Who doesn’t like more oomph? When my hair is dry, I will use the Strong Finish hairspray to give my hair a firm hold. If I need a little more volume, I will use a little of the DrySpun Texture Spray, it gives me great volume at the roots and holds it all day. On occasion I do enhance my hair with the Liquid Wax plus Finishing Spray when I want a little edgier look.

The Lifesaver!
Dry Shampoo. It’s so good, I’ll say it again… Dry Shampoo! On those days I do not wash my hair, it gives it new life. I cannot live without it. It is a miracle in a can.
Side note.
My baby boy has the most beautiful ringlet curls. ( I am not ready for that cut! ) Sometimes I just can’t with those curls – I’m so in love with his hair. For church or special occasions, I will style his hair with the product-free feel of the Don’t Blow It Fine Hair Styler for fine to medium soft hair. It enhances the texture and body of those soft blonde curls – I’m so glad that Bumble and bumble. have kid friendly products!
